Physical Dowels / At the point of work

Put the Job where the work is.

A Physical Dowel is designed to give the equipment, place, or instrument a recognizable doorway to its Job. Start with a label. When the installation asks for more specific attachment or protection, choose the form that fits the actual equipment and environment. The carrier changes; the Job stays whole.

Choose by the place it has to live. A tougher form adds fit, protection, and attachment specificity—not more truth, proof, quality, trust, or authority.

Materials and forms / Brushed 316L

Some places ask for metal.

The recognizable address stays consistent. Material, geometry, and attachment follow the exposure, cleaning routine, and service life of the place where it has to work.

One interaction / Wherever the work begins

The hand finds the Subject. Dowelify is designed to open the permitted path.

In the founding pilot, manual selection and an assigned carrier are designed to reach the same Subject record. The person's authenticated role—not possession of the carrier—determines what they may see or do.

Entry labels / The lightest physical form

Start with the lightest form that can stay put.

Entry labels use a flat lime address layer and a flush warm-white carrier. The face stays recognizable while the size, laminate, and attachment construction change with the installation. In a pilot, every installed label would receive its own identifier and visible serial.

A practical size range

CompactFor close-range access where the clear landing area is tight.
StandardFor everyday equipment faces with room for an easy scan.
ExtendedFor longer rails, housings, and more visible placement.

The attachment system

For Entry labels, orange identifies the adhesive bond.

The label geometry remains recognizable. The adhesive and protective laminate are selected for the substrate, exposure, cleaning routine, and intended service life.

Smooth housingsA thin high-tack bond for prepared metal and compatible plastics.
Textured surfacesA conformable foam bond where the landing surface is uneven.
Moisture + cleaningA protected face and bond selected for the actual exposure and cleaning routine.
Temporary placementA lower-residue construction where the address should move or end cleanly.

The Address Covenant / When a Dowel fails

The carrier may fail. The Job should not.

  • Replace without rewriting. The product commitment is that a damaged Dowel can be retired and replaced without rewriting the Job.
  • Fail safely. The product commitment is that an unbound, retired, compromised, or copied carrier reveals no private record by default.
  • Keep a minimal address. The product commitment is that every physical Dowel retains a safe minimal address even if a subscription ends.
